Miller and Corbett Catch The Turkey Thief!
The complaints which are frequently made in regard to persons from the city coming into the country and carrying off farm produce and causing all kinds of trouble for the farming community are not overdrawn in the least.  There would yet be some consolation if all the rascals were caught and punished but such is not the case as they are not always apprehended.

Two young fellows from Kenosha took a day off last Friday and with a horse and buggy, they drove up through Pike Woods to see what they could find.  Possibly the high price of meat had started them out on a turkey hunt, for when they reached a fine flock belonging to F.M. Miller, they caught one of the the finest birds and started back for the city.  The theft was witnessed by a neighbor who immediately reported to Mr. Miller, who with Everett Corbett, hitched up a horse and started in hot pursuit.  Unfortunately the men had disappeared out of sight and just what road they had taken was difficult to determine.  The pursuers, however, kept going, for this was their first experience in work of this kind and they were determined to land their men if possible and establish a reputation that would count for something when they returned to their home comunity.

At last their hopes were to be realized as they ran down their men at the western limits of Kenosha, and a telephone message to Sheriff Achen brought him on the scnee in a few minutes and the guilty men were taken to the municipal court for trial.  Their case was of short duration as Judge Randall gave them 30 and 40 days, respectively, to be served in the county jail.

Mr. Miller got his turkey back and although the chase was an exciting one, it was worth all it cost, as the crooked element in Kenosha will realize hereafter that the farming community out in Somers will not tolerate any more work of this kind!
